Deborah's work has been particularly inspired by the landscape and species-rich Cotswold limestone grasslands that embrace the Stroud Valleys.
Her photography has also documented the conservation work of these rare habitats by local volunteers and environmental organisations such as Stroud Valleys Project, Save our Magnificent Meadows, Glorious Cotswold Grasslands and Back from the Brink
Deborah has a particular interest in the conservation of Rodborough Common SAC and has been involved in botanical surveys concerned with erosion and widening paths. This has included writing the 'Caring for the Commons 'til the Cows Come Home' leaflet and contributing to the report Footpath, Botanical and Skylark Surveys 2021 conducted on behalf of Stroud Valleys Project and Stroud District Council.
Grassland Conservation work on Rodborough Common 2017 - 2021

The 'Grasslands of the Stroud Valleys' exhibition has been shown at a number of venues and the joint exhibition with artist Nadine James 'This Neck of the Woods' at the Museum in the Park in 2024. Other arts project have included the documentation of the Walking the Land artists project Growing Places.
Recent work has covered the radical history of Stroud and images of recent protests will be included in the Stroud Site Open Studios exhibition in June 2026
